I have a Johanna Fiume Franco (Franko) in my ancestry.
her father was John (Joannes) Franco (Franko) born 1836/37 in Bocchere ,Mantova.
Is Fuime a surname and is it common to use it as a middle name
or was she named after Fiume (Rijika) in Croatia?
John supposedly ran away to sea age 15yrs possibly from Trieste or even Rijika (Fiume).
Any help on this family would be greatfully received.

Do you have more information on either of them? I don't see the surname Franco in the records for Castel Goffredo (Bocchere) or several other nearby comune.
