This is a picture of my grandfather Vincenzo Stefano "Steve" Conti, early 1930's. He was born in Carovilli in 1891. He emigrated to the US in 1912. He fought in WWI as a newly naturalized American citizen in the 332nd Infantry, the only American Infantry to fight in Italy for the Allied Powers and was in the battle of Vittorio Veneto in 1918, just shy of the Armistice. He lived the rest of his life in Akron, Ohio. He was a founding member of the Carovillise club, a mutual aid society in Akron. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
I provide these facts to see if there is any significance to the clothes he is wearing in this closeup photo. Does anyone see any attachment to an organization or anything about Italy itself? Or was he just a classy dresser
