TURCO Nicolo fu Giorgio Canicatti Sicily died 1891
Ciao tutti.
I am looking for the death record of Nicolo TURCO fu Giorgio. I found the index listing for him, but when I searched the record entries themselves it seems that 1891 is missing?
Does anyone else know where I might find it?
Thank you.
Patrizia

Hi G
I was just looking at this for Patrizia.
Here is the link to the page in the index: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... g=en&i=108
I checked and 1891 records are missing. The records jump from 1890 to 1892.
1892 starts here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... =en&i=1988

Sorry, my mistake.
I'd lost the page, but saved the screengrab and only added to show his year of birth.
Apologies.

Totally understand, Patrizia. It happens. Welcome back.
(Re the missing year, I've also had this happen with my records, and then years later I've located the missing year included in another town in my province. This happened with my grandfather's birth record. Hope you get lucky too.

Thank you, I see now the reference to Second PArt (13S). The first page of the section in the index has Naro crossed out with Canicatti written over it, and I looked in Naro, and couldn't see it.
I went onto Antenati and looked there and found the marriage record for them, and can't read location...
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 37/w6YDbKN
Could this also say Naro? or is it just "ditto"
Thanks.
The above search is part of my goal overall which is to find the link between
my ancestor Francesca Nicoscia wife of Calogero Firrone and daughter of Giuseppe Nicoscia & Domenica Lo Brutto B 1739 in my family tree and
my DNA match ancestor Francesca Nicoscia wife of Nicolo Turco, daughter of DomenicoTurco & Giuseppa Di PAsquale B 1800
Looking for the link in a DNA match family tree, as I suspect this is where our connection is. The surnames and location (Canicatti) are common and correct, and the only apparent connection so far, but they are a generation or 2 apart.
Looking round the nearby family to see where they connect.
I'm enjoying the search but it's tricky!
Thanks for all your help.

I can see that clearly now that you have pointed it out. Thank you.
Great work here as usual, G.

Francesca Nicoscia's parents were married in Canicattì on 2 November 1809.
Domenico Nicoscia had never been married and was the son of the late Francesco and Antonina.
Giuseppa di Pasquale was also unmarried and the daughter of the late Diego and Petra, who was still alive.
Both spouses were from Canicattì.
The marriage record can be found in the Canicattì marriage register for the years 1807–1812 (vol. 16, f. 62, image 63) at the Diocesan Historical Archive of Agrigento.

oh wow......that's amazing. Thank you very much. I'll go an look at the record if I can, and see if he matches with the Francesco Nicosia born 1741 in my own tree.mmogno wrote: 17 Jul 2025, 01:34 Francesca Nicoscia's parents were married in Canicattì on 2 November 1809.

He is the sister of Francesca Nicosia born around 1739 that is in my own tree, from Italy select marriages 1809-1900 in ancestry, but no date or specific information on that one.
If that will be the case then it would then confirm the connection I was searching for. Their parents were Giuseppe Nicoscia (1720) and Domenica Lo Brutto (1724).
In Ancestry it seems that a lot of people have Francesco and Francesca as the same person, which is wrong, and makes for mistakes elsewhere.
I'm so happy thank you very much.
