Putting the Power in PowerPoint

Post by darkerhorse »

I'm creating a PowerPoint presentation of genealogy research.

The file is already 200MB and growing, and I suspect it'll still be way too large to email even after I crop and compress images more.

One alternative is to distribute it on a thumb drive. I'm low tech but aren't there other ways to share large files - Cloud? Drop Box? How do they work?

Another option is to save it as a pdf or jpeg (already 15MB) but it's not as impactful as a slide presentation and I have some animated slides which would become disabled.

Any thoughts on how to share the PowerPoint presentation both to persons who have PowerPoint on their computer and to those who don't?

You could compress it and send as a .zip file, I suppose...

Is a ZIP file easy to use for the recipient who is also low tech?

I saved it as a compressed Zip folder, but the size remained 200MB.

Yes, it failed with the same message - 200MB exceeds 25MB limit.
