The Brooklyn Public Library maintains a database of Brooklyn Newspapers going back to over 100 years.

Just Google: Brooklyn Newsstand and you will find the link.

You do not need a Brooklyn Library card to access this free database.

So many things are there such as birth, marriage and death announcements.


I found out that my grandfather, whom I had not known, won a bowling trophy in 1915.

My great grandfather’s Will of 1937 was also published in the newspaper.
