Looking for the Death Place of my great grandmother
My paternal great grandmother was born Luigia Biggi in San Stefano d’Avento circa 1854.
A distant relative has found her baptism certificate.
Her father was Agosto and her mother was Catarina.
She married Pietro Luigi Gardella from Neirone. His father was Antonio and his mother was Teresa Dina Lagomarsino.
My second cousin twice removed has found Pietro’s death act of 1916 in Neirone.
I will, hopefully, be visiting Liguria next fall.
I’m looking to find my great grandmother’s death act and where she is buried.
This family of mine traveled back and forth across the Atlantic as if they were only taking a bus from Brooklyn to Manhattan.
I think Luigia, after Pietro’s death returned to the US, to Detroit where their daughter, my great aunt, Teresa Maria Gardella lived. But only for a visit.
I’m nearly certain that she is buried in Neirone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Looking for the Death Place of my great grandmother
Is this her?
I don't have access to records in Ancestry but they seem to place her death in Michigan with no date (so maybe it's only conjecture).

Was she mentioned in her husband's death record?
Re: Looking for the Death Place of my great grandmother
This, for reference, is Pietro Gardella’s death record.
She is written as Luigia Biggio.

So, she died after he did in 1916.
Re: Looking for the Death Place of my great grandmother
Here is the death act of Luigia Biggio in 1938 in Neirone.
Death on 23 March.
She was age 82, and the widow of Pietro Gardella.
Correct parents and place of birth.

Re: Looking for the Death Place of my great grandmother
You wonderful, wonderful people on this forum.
Once again, you have helped me.
I can’t wait to tell my distant cousin, a Biggi, who will be visiting NYC from Louisiana next month, that I now know where exactly my great grandmother was laid to rest.
You are all absolutely amazing.
I’m sending love from Brooklyn, NY to all of you.
