The line that goes through the h in this record is just there to indicate there are missing letters from the first name. I know you say it’s the wrong parents, but the parents married in Corleone on April 27, 1698. image 154 of 306, marriages 1691-1708. Folio 110, top record left page.
The father Giovanni was the son of deceased Antonino and Maria Gariffo, former spouses. The bride was Filippa Ferraro, daughter of deceased Vincenzo and Antonina Ferraro, former spouses.

Re: Anna Gariffo birth but not correct parents i believe
ok, i will recheck that record for the parents
ok i now understand the shorthand of the line which made me think it was a "T"
i need to add the son then the daughter anna
do they say the maria's surname name?
Thanks

Neither mother’s surname is given in the marriage record. The problem with church records is that in the mid 1500s, the Council of Trent, dictated that local parishes had to keep records or registers concerning vital events in their parishes (births/baptisms, marriages, deaths). However, it did not dictate what the specific content of those records had to include. That’s why some of these records give what we call the “maiden” names of mothers, whereas others refer to married women only under their married surname. It also depends on who in the parish wrote the record, etc.

Hello Erudita
I rechecked the Anna birth record and I am confused by the wording
I see TWO filius with TWO names with the other name being Francesco filius of Josephi e Anna
thanks

The Francesco who’s the son of Giuseppe and Anna, not sure of the surname, is the godfather. The godmother was Elisabetta, the wife of a Leonardo Pelligrino.

Re: Anna Gariffo birth but not correct parents i believe
Sometimes twins were in a single record, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here. Always best to check though. I also forgot to tell that the infant being baptized was Anna Antonia and not just Anna. Very common for infants to be given multiple first names at baptism, and then for only one of those to be used in subsequent records. Particularly true when the person first appears in a church record and then years later in a civil record.
