Here's the Civil Record, which gives a bit more info.

Death No 29: Vittoria Cicio
Registered 27 January 1894, Santa Margherita di Belice

Vittoria Cicio, 72 yo, casalinga (housewife/domestic) died yesterday (26 January 1894 in a house in via Duomo, no number given. She was born and residing in S. Margherita, the daughter of the deceased Michele, a contadino, who lived in S. Margherita when living, and of the deceased Giuseppa ? (it doesn’t look like the gravediggers who reported the death knew Giuseppa’s surname nor where she had resided.) Vittoria was married with Leonardo Montelione.

(mmogno was quicker at posting than me, but why waste a good translation

Hi Linda

I was just looking for Vittoria’s 1818 birth record and I searched here first on the forum and I noticed that this exact topic has come up before, in April this year. I should have checked before I looked for the death record and translated it because the name Vittoria Ciccio sounded so familiar to me. Anyways, I would suggest you talk to Mary about this and see what conclusion she and Erudita came up with. I’m just trying to stick to translations at the moment because I’m helping others with their family history issues which takes time. (It seems that Gaspare may have had a brother called Michele so maybe that’s where the confusion is, that the wrong father’s name was given at both death registrations (church and civil?). Not sure.

Best to you with this.

Hello Angela,
The birth of Victoria Cicio is on the paid website of Archdiocese Agrigento.
I had spoken with mary many times regarding this and there was no conclusion reached
BUT i did not know of erudita's info regarding a brother Michele. A conclusion was never reached at that time that is why Mary and i had no date for the death and why i was looking for the not accepted found death.
I will look for Michele's death date and his marriage to Giuseppe Mauro
as it makes sense that MIchele is the bio father, died and his brother married the widow Giuseppa.
I am speaking with Mary as i write this reply and i think i understand that Rosalia is supposedly in this triangle and i do not know how that fits.
Thank you for any help you contribute. I absolutely do not wish to take you away from helping others.
Best.

I have not found that Michele married Giuseppa but he did marry another person so I am accepting that a mistake was made on the Victoria Cicio death record as to the father info.
Thanks for everyone's help

Your help is invaluable and my tree would be much smaller without it.
