Hi Mardi,

Since both families were from Corleone and the surnames Trombatore/Trumbatore are very similar, there is certainly a possibility that they were related. I would recommend checking Corleone birth, marriage, and church records, as well as family trees on Ancestry and FamilySearch, to look for shared parents, grandparents, or siblings. The dates and locations are close enough to warrant further research.

Good luck with your search!

Giuseppe Trumbaturi was born on February 16, 1849 in Corleone, Palermo, Sicily to Lorenzo
and Calogera Vecchio, spouses from the same parish.

According to Lorenzo’s marriage certificate to Calogera (29 June 1834, no. 183), Lorenzo was the son of the late Bernardo and Anna Maria di Leonardo.

Vincenzo Trombatore was born on September 30, 1847 in Corleone to Leoluca and Maria Ruffini spouses from the same parish.

There is a marriage record (23 September 1824) for a Leoluca Trombatore and a Maria Frija(?), daughter of Antonino and Santa Ruffini.
Leoluca’s parents are Salvatore and Francesca Sparacio.
