Need help reading name

Esteemed colleagues,

In this marriage document I am having difficulty reading the surname (specifically the first letter) of the deceased first husband of Giuseppa Collura, Giovanni ??omara. And does the "maggiore" after his name refer to a designation of esteem, not an actual part of his name? Or something else?

Hello Parker

I am reading that she was the widow of Giovanni Pomara. The word maggiore is referring to Giuseppa Collura, not to deceased husband Giovanni, and it is basically saying that she (Giuseppa) was an adult aged 40 yo.
