Gandolfa Cascio emigrated to America in 1914 and stayed with her older brother Rosario Cascio in the Bronx, NYC. No other Cascio family emigrated to America. Gandolfa Cascio married Salvatore Puma on April 25, 1920. He appears in the January 6, 1920 census as living with his brother Ralph Puma. There was a December 13, 1919 civil marriage for them but the entire family (including later her first two children) did that following Italian traditions - getting a civil marriage first, but not living together or recognizing their marriage until the church wedding took place.
I have the January 7 census (attached lines 89 -94) for Rosario Cascio which has spelling errors but the wife and children are a match so I know it is the right one. His sister Gandolfa Cascio (sometimes given the name "Mamie" for Gandolfa) does not appear. Wondering if this was an error or whether she had moved out of her brother's residence. Can anyone find a 1920 Census for her?
