Searching for Rivarolo Canavese, Piedmonte
My BASSO family came from Rivarolo Canavese, Piedmonte. I know where Piedmonte is, but not quite sure where Rivarolo Canavese is located. Some help, please.

Re: Searching for Rivarolo Canavese, Piedmonte
Hi pbasso.
Rivarolo Canavese is a town located about 20 miles north of Turin.
Ten centuries of history (the first written mention is on an Imperial act dated November 1st of the year of the Lord 1000 ), two medieval castles, half a dozen of ancient churches (the oldest built in XIII century and dedicated to St. Francis of Assis, who is said to have slept here), one nice central arched street, three brand new fountains being the pride of the young and ambitious major (who is an old school-mate of mine, by the way), a population of 12.184 (the undersigned included) at the date of December 31st, 2007.
Please, ask if you need some more detailed info.
Also, I remember someone else posing similar questions on the Basso Families of Rivarolo in this Forum: here's the link:

Hope this helps.
Ciao,
