Rossi family, Atina, Frosinone, Lazio

I am researching my genealogy and would like some help finding my father's ancestors.

My grandfather was Giovanni Rossi, although he went by John most of his life. His father was Luigi Rossi (Lewis) who immigrated; his mother was Rosa, I believe her maiden name was DeLuca or DiLuca. The Rossi family had a farm house near the town of Atina in Frosinone - in fact it may still be there. My great-grandfather would have been born around 1893 and my great-grandmother around 1894. How can I find out more about them, including who their parents were?

Thanks, it looks like my great-grandfather's immigration is recorded at the Ellis Island page. Do you know how I would find more about before he came over - birth records, names of family members etc?

If he was born in Atina or its villages it is recorded in the local anagrafe office.

You may also be able to view the entry in the LDS microfiche records. You will need to go to your local LDS Family History Centre. you can search for this on line.

Also I have no doubt many people on this forum will also be able to assist.

It would be helpfull if you post as much detailed information as you currently hold.

I have just checked my list ofnames for Atina.

The 2nd most popular name living in Atina is De Luca with 116 people
The 5th most popular name is Rossi with 78 people.
