Hello All,
This is my first post. I am trying to figure if this is something worth pursuing. My great grandfather naturalized as a USA citizen in 1903 and my grandfather was born in 1922, so I am aware of the fact that he lost his Italian citizenship at that point and supposedly didn't pass that on to my grandfather. However, I know that my grandfather's 3 eldest siblings lived in Italy during WW1 and that my great grandfather made many extended trips back to amalfi and napoli before WW1 and after (as he had business interests in the area) is it possible that during this time prior to my grandfather's birth in the USA, that he re-acquired his Italian citizenship by domicile?

Re: Question about citizenship re-aquisition
It is possible, but his length of stay may be difficult to prove, and he would have had to reacquire before the birth of his child.
You may want to check with his comune to see if he took any affirmative steps to reacquire.
