Trying to understand the son and wife of Giovanni Antonio Peperone, a foundling
This wonderful forum revealed two scripts regarding Giovanni Antonio Peperone, son of Lotero Peperone and Domenica Curotto. I am requesting a translation (or how I can receive a full translation) please?
I am trying to gather important information for my family, in particular despite being a foundling is it possible to trace his parents and carers? I also have a proposition that John emigrated with Antonio Cassinelli and Dominick Spinello from Mezzanego and Borzonasca to Sheffield

The year 1870, day 27 March, a Sunday, at 9 AM in Borzonasca in the office of the civil state. Before me GianBattista Marre', Secretary... in the town of Borzonasca, delegated on 23 December 1865, approved...-
Personally appeared Domenico Costa, son of deceased Simone, age 50; and Giuseppe Maggi, son of deceased Antonio, age 64, landowners residing in Montemaggio of this town of Borzonasca, to inform of the death, as friends of the family of the deceased, declaring that at 1 PM today, 27th of the current month of March, died in Montemaggio, third region, Casa Tealdo, Lotero Peperone, age 37, farmer, son of unknown parents, exposed (abandoned) at the Hospital of Genova, married with Domenica Curotto, daughter of the living Angelo, born in Genova, residing in said Montemaggio.
To this declaration of death, composed of this present act, written in the presence of the declarants, as witnesses, I read the same act, which after the reading we signed.

Thank you very much Tessa
This opens another search around Montemaggio and the friends are people of interest
I guess the migration of Giovanni is 15-20 years later, possibly involving Antonio Cassinelli and Angela Spinetti

Thank you Tessa, in a small community like Lavaggi or Borzonesca is the best chance of further information the local church please?
Giovanni at some stage emigrates possibly with the Cassinelli and Spinetto families? I am wondering whether there is a story of 19 Italians leaving this region around 1888 heading for Sheffield. In 1891 they were all living and working in Sheffield

Dated 3 May 1870
Before the official personally appeared Luigia Curotto, daughter of the living Angelo, housewife, wife of Giovanni Perazza, 38, residing in Levaggi of this town of Borzonasca, to presented a male child...whose birth she assisted as midwife, on 1 May at 5 PM. The child was born to her sister Domenica Curotto, of said living Angelo, widow of Lotero Peperone, ...who died last March, an estate manager, age 36, at the house he lived in with said Domenica Curotto, in Levaggi, Costa Region, Casa dei Bascin(?), and to this child was given the name GIOVANNI ANTONIO.
Witnesses to the recording of the act of birth were Domenico Briasco, son of deceased Pietro, landowner; and GiamBattista Cavalli, son of the living Antonio, town messenger; both residing in this town...
The witnesses and official signed.

And is this the baptism/birth of Giovanni's son?
Joannes Robertus Peperoni in the England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
Name: Joannes Robertus Peperoni
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 2 Sep 1894
Baptism Place: St. Vincent of Paul, Sheffield, York, England
Father: Joannis Peperoni
Mother: Mariae Annae Roberts (This would be Giovanni's wife - MaryAnn Roberts)
FHL Film Number: 1941826

I checked the 1891 England & Wales Census...
Domenico Spinetto (listed as Son in Law) is married to a daughter (identified as Flori on this census) of Angela Cassinelli.
Flori Cassinelli Spinetto was born in 1872 in England.
So it appears that the Cassinelli family was in England for a considerable time before Giovanni emigrated from Italy. However, there is a good chance that he traveled with Domenico Spinetto.

Re: Trying to understand the son and wife of Giovanni Antonio Peperone, a foundling
Thank you Tessa, Lockton is a surname used in the family today instead of Peperoni and I agree ANTONIO Cassinelli lived in the UK for many decades before 1870 onwards, he appears also to travel to the US and back. I am guessing at some stage he took the group, probably via Bolounge or Le Harve which he travelled previously. I am still struggling to pin point a crossing date and how to go back earlier than Lotero Peperone - all suggestions greatly appreciated
Re: Trying to understand the son and wife of Giovanni Antonio Peperone, a foundling
I do not believe you will have any luck going back earlier than Lotero Peperone. He was the son of unknown parents, an abandoned child. His birth act would not have the names of parents, nor would his baptism record.
You can probably find the father of his wife, Domenica Curotto. His name according to the records was Angelo [Curotto] and he was living in 1870.

Re: Trying to understand the son and wife of Giovanni Antonio Peperone, a foundling
Thank you Tessa - I have found a Angelo C and 7 children but no mention of Domenica - I have to go to a Family Search centre to view the records this week - Angelo C born 1830 Borzonasca, died 12 Aug 1883, father Domenico and mother Caterina. Seperately I found a possible sister in law to Domenica: Maria Peperone married to Francesco Guerzoni (and a daughter Linda Maria b 1883) (and a son Pietro b 1880). Linking it all together is a challenge but it feels like progress. I did wonder whether Angelo C is too old and I found a younger Angelo C but nothing connecting the two Angelo's yet. Thank you for your expert assistance
