Translation for birth

Post by EdwardFaruolo »

Hello,
If someone could please help with the translation.
Record #377 Francesco Guerrera
Reported on May 27 1877 by Giuseppa Germano.
At 4:12 on May 23 Francesco Guerrera was born to mother Maria Spasaro in their house in Via San Gaetano.

I just do not understand the rest. Why was the father not reporting this?
What was his name Guerrero? Fortunato?

Yes, the father was Fortunato Guerrera, a calzolaio (cobbler), husband of Maria Spasaro, who both lived in the town. The midwife reported the birth in place of Maria Spasaro's husband who was unable to, because at the time, he was a long way from the town.
