Piggybacking on Relatives’ Successful Cases

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Piggybacking on Relatives’ Successful Cases

Post by Mike7 »

My paternal grandmother has been naturalized through jure sanguinis in her home country( outside of the U.S) as have multiple relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc). I know that there is not a way I can piggyback in their documentation in the U.S. as consulates don’t share info anymore. However, if I were to go do it directly in Italy, do I still need to have all documents up to the last Italian born ancestor or could I just link myself to my grandmother?

Thanks in advance.
