Waiting Period

[darkerhorse]

How long did an Italian immigrant have to be resident in the U.S. to become eligible for naturalization in the 20th century?

[darkerhorse]

The person in question was naturalized in 1963.

Was it five years?

[darkerhorse]

I found two who immigrated in the 1950s and waited about five years for naturalization. I was wondering if that was the rule or just a coincidence.
