abbreviations near Naples

Post by joetucciarone »

On the 1862-1876 map of Italy, the abbreviations “Fab” and “Tre” appear in many labels on the coast near Naples. Does anyone know what they stand for?

“Fab.ca.” in “Fab.ca di Vetro”:

“Fabb.” in “Fabb. di Tela”:

“Fabb.” in “Fabb. di Robbia”:

“Tre.” in “Tre. del Fico,” “Tre. Scavorì,” and “Tre. di Patria”:

Here's are two more examples: "Fab.ca di mattoni" and "Fab.ca di cristalli":

Since "mattoni" means "bricks," I'm guessing "Fab.ca di mattoni" is "Fabbrica di mattoni," which would be a brick-making factory. And maybe "Fab.ca di cristalli" is a factory that produces crystal pieces?
