Changed street name in Capodrise, since 1881

Post by Friederock »

This is the record for Dominico De Majo (top left of slide 2269).

This handwriting is unusually clear, so I have been able to decipher everything (except that side note) and translate it with Google Translate.  But there is a strange issue with the street name.

The record shows that in 1881 Gaetano De Majo lived in Capodrise, at Via Corsonuovo, 36.

There currently is no Via Corsonuovo in Capodrise.  It seems to basically mean new road, so I’m guessing there is by now a new name for that road?  Does anybody know how to find the new name?

There is one Via Corso Nuovo not too far away, in San Cipriano d'Aversa.  But looking at Google maps it clearly does not go near 36 (maybe as high as 20).  And this record clearly says Capodrise.

Possibly someone at the municipal library in Capodrise can assist you. I found the following email address for the library there:

e-mail: biblioteca@personaaps.org
