Hello, I am helping a family member find information on their family and I am having trouble locating the records for Giuseppe Romano and Gaetana Nasta. I know that their daughter Adele Consiglia Romano was born in Candida, Avellino in 1877, however, I can't seem to find a marriage record for Giuseppe and Gaetana. I am not sure if Gaetana was born in Candida or not, nor do I know her age, it does not tell me on Adele's birth record. I am also having trouble finding Giuseppe's birth record. I started in 1837 and working my way back, but still nothing. Any help would be great. Thank you

Start with the 1877 birth and work backwards, finding all children born before her. When the children stop coming you can look for a marriage 0-5 years before the birth of the first child, usually within 0-2. You'll probably need to look page by page if it is before 1865 as these books are often missing indices in the area.

Maria Romano born 2 Jan 1874 to Giuseppe Romano, 35, son of Giovanni Antonio Romano, and Gaetana Nasta, 30, daughter of deceased Panziano.

Use those ages to determine a place to stop, so they were married after 1862 most likely. Both Romano and Nasta can be found in Candida so I wouldn't immediately jump to another place until you've exhausted this search. You could now also use the ages here and the father's name of each to locate their birth record most likely, which could also be annotated with the date and place of their marriage.

Maria Luigia born 31 Oct 1869, father 35 mother 30 (her father is still alive here meaning he died 1869-1874). Age discrepancies here now put their marriage closer to 1857 at the earliest likely.

Emilio born 30 Jan 1866, father 32. Says father's dad is deceased here but not on the other records, either an error here or there.
