I've had a family tree on Ancestry.com for over 20 years. I've given access to the tree to dozens of family members who must use a log in process so that my tree is protected from identity thieves. Access has cost them nothing as "members" who are not "subscribers" and until this year, they have been able to see my entire tree including facts, photos, and stories. Now Ancestry.com has changed the rules for "members" who are not "subscribers". They can still see my tree for free, but not the facts, photos, and stories unless they pay $5 a month. Most only occasionally visit the tree so that the new monthly fee is not worth it to them.
Are there any alternative websites where I can invite free members that meet the following criteria:
1. The website is more than names and has facts, photos, and stories.
2. The website enables me to restrict non invited people from seeing the living persons on my tree.
3. I can download my family tree in one step from either Ancestry.com or my Family TreeMaker software that currently coordinates with Ancestry.com.
4. The website gives extensive hints from many sources.
