re: search in palermo death indexes 1820-1895
researching the indexes for the deaths of francesco caldara and caterina romeo. married in palermo in 1844. i found the death of caterina romeo in 1879. it appears husband francesco survived her. i checked all the indices from 1846-1855 up to 1886-1895. son antonino was born in 1848. couldn't find francesco. he probably died after 1895 but not long after as he would have been around 75 in 1895. are there any other palermo death indices continuing after 1895? any help or suggestions appreciated.

Re: re: search in palermo death indexes 1820-1895
thanks. i have all this and as i said in my post i checked all indexes from 1846-1895,the first one 1846-1855 when francesco caldara may have died (son antonino b.1848) ,up to 1886-1895,the last death index that i could find available. no death for francesco caldara. my question was,are there any further death indexes for palermo after 1895? as francesco would have been in his 70s by this time,he probably died within the next 10 years,by 1905 or 1910. my original posts were just to access the death indexes from 1820-1895. the last post was to see if any further death indexes exist-online-after 1895. urls and techy issues aren't my strong point. i started out back 25 years ago accessing these old records on microfilm at lds centers. not like today with most everything online. old school. if i can access records i can usually extract the information i'm seeking, unless the handwriting is very faded or undecipherable.

That's fascinating detective work! Tracking down those records can be quite a challenge. Have you considered alternative spellings or variations of Francesco's name? Sometimes errors crept into those old indexes. If you need a break from scouring documents, you could unwind with some quick and engaging io games.
