Tracing Francesca Paola Cursio and Giacomo Manerchia-Massara

My grandmother, maiden name of Francesca Paola Cursio, was born about 1878 in Castrogiovanni, now renamed Enna, Sicily. I would like to find the exact date of her birth and the name of her parents. I think her father's name was Angelo Cursio and he died in Sicily, most likely Enna. The name of Francesco Paola Cursio's mother is unknown.

My grandfather, Giacomo Manerchia (Manerchia-Massara as the name might have been while in Italy) was born about 1874 in Capizzi, Sicily. His father's name was Giovanni Manerchia Massara (exact spelling uncertain). The name of Giacomo Manerchia Massara's mother is unknown.

I would like to learn as much about all of them as possible since we will visit both of these towns in October. Thank you for your assistance

Have tried writing away for the birth or death certificates for your ancestors? If you write away for the death act, it should list parents names, birth date and spouses information.

You might also want to consider renting microfilms from your local Family History Center and doing the research yourself using the information you have. Civil records are available for both towns.
