no absolutely no italian connection...I once thought there was, and this was the forum I was using. I'll try to find a German forum.
I know my line after Simon and Johann.
I am not sure who FENCHEL is or can I find any records of Simon coming to the US.

The first immigrant of the Fenicle family. Most have been a redempti oner for he had a master Wm. Conerly who gave him permission to marr y in 1757 in the Augustus Evangelical Lutheran church. (see records ) The first child was born six months later. A redemptioner was some times given clothes, tools or land when his time was served to help h im get started.
