Ships that arrived to NY around December 23, 1948 from Italy

Post by Theresa789 »

Hi,

I'm looking for a passenger list for my mother when she came to the US.
I am not sure of the ship name, but she thinks it might be the SS Vulcania. However, I can't find anything stating that it arrived in NY around December 23, 1948.

Could you please tell me what ships came in around that time.

We want to surprise her for her 80th birthday so I can really ask her too many questions without her being suspicious!

Thank you for your help!

Go to ancestry . com and select "Immigration and Emigration" from the Search dropdown menu. On the right side of the next screen, under "Featured Data Collections", click "New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957". Next screen, on the right side, select from the Year, Month, and Day boxes to see a list of ships which arrived.

I'm pretty certain this will work even for non-Ancestry members.

PS: The Vulcania arrived on the 29th. The Vulcano arrived on the 21st.
