Scarinzi/Scarinza

Post by Khowland »

I am looking for someone who can help me. My grandfather, Pasquale Scarinzi came to the US in 1903 and married Filomena Biondi in Summit NJ. They had 8 children, Rosa, Mario, Joseph, Mary, Anna, Anthony, Louise and John(my grandfather). I am looking for anyone who might possibly be related. I do know that Paquale came to visit his brother Cosmo, but I cannot find anything on him either. One other item to note, my grandfather changed his name from Scarinzi to Scarinza.

Please help!

no not a relative... but sometimes relatives take longer to find this site.

Is that the Cosimo (manifest) you were looking for?

Thank you for the response. Yes, I can find information on Pasquale in the census data. The one I cannot find is Cosimo.

In 1910 in Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA ED 437, page 241 B

Cosmo Scaringe...age 30, unmarried

In 1920 in Allegheny County, Pittsburg, PA ED 513, page 15 B

Cosimo Scorngi, married with family.

Both these are the same person with age variation...and arrival variation.

But check them out just in case........

I have searched the web for Scarinzi which is my mother's family name. My grandfather's name was Pasquale Scarinzi and he did emigrate to America from Vitulano near Benevento in Italy. It is a small village up in the mountains and that is where I was born. I remember my mother also mentioning Zio Cosomo who lived with them at some point. I believe it could have been in old age but am not sure. After spending many years in America my grandfather Pasquale Scarinzi returned to Vitulano to his wife and children. The dates you give as the date of birth etc seem to tie in as being my grandfather. He died in his 90's round about 1976. For exact information I will have to contact my cousin in Italy to verify. My mum and dad moved from Italy to the UK in 1957 and I saw my grandfather Pasquale only once after that before he died. Can this be the same Pasquale Scarinzi?
Let me know.
Also my Uncle Carmine Scarinzi emigrated to America when he was 18 years old. Pasquale was his father. I have cousins in America from this uncle and also from two of my mother's sisters.

Filomena (mother's name Scarinzi, father's name Tartaglia)

Hi I know this is an old post but I was looking for someone else, and believe that Pasquale Scarinzi was my Great grandfather., from Vitulano. Not sure if your last post led you to what you needed. I was looking for a Susie Scarinizi, originally from Newark Nj . Her father was Carmine Scarinzi and mother Millie.

I am helping my brother in law. He took the ancestry DNA test and were able to find his gr grandfather Mariano Scarinzi from the family trees of common DNA matches. He and his wife Angelina were from Vitulano. His parents were Luigi and Philomena.

I just looked up the town and the mayor of the town is a Scarinzi.
I found him on. Facebook and messaged him
