Surname of "Donoaro"

Post by mariemaye »

My great-great grandmother's name is supposedly Arcangela Donoaro from Genoa, Italy. Does that seem like the correct spelling of her surname??

I believe that the surname spelling is DONDERO, popular in Genova area...

Thanks everyone. She married Francesco Badaracco in 1871 so I know who her husband is. I thought the spelling was odd. My uncle read this off of her gravestone: Arcangela M. Donoaro DOB: September 19, 1855 in Italy. Died: August 13, 1912 in New Brunswick, NJ.

Michael and Suanj--I'll check out your suggestions!
Thanks,
Marie
