Ancestry.com

Post by ray1955 »

Ok I am gonna give this a try.
I have a date on my file that when I open my Ancestry on my computer. My program is like 2014 version.
When I signed up again for Ancestry.com I see a newer version of my file.....so I am wondering how I would copy this file to my computer and be able to have it as an option to open the file in my program.

My other comment is has anyone else noticed that the file on my computer is different in display and updating etc.....where as the program online when you open your file that has been uploaded has a story line that is created by Ancestry. I don't get the idea thats where you would want to change anything.

Thank you for your time on this ....... I would like to get the file that online down to the computer as I want to start to make a binder divided by my family members papers I have found.
I have lots of data but not a very good organizer.

Well I think I figured it out my biggest problem. 2014 Ancestry program is no longer useable.

If you had an earlier version of Family Tree Maker (like 3.0), convert it to FTM 2017 or Gedcom file then the current version FTM 2019

Hopefully you confirmed that you can go from 2014 to 2019; most program are now designed that you may have to buy ever release.
