My grandfather was born in Italy and came to the US when he was a little younger than 2 years of age in 1906.
I have no idea if he was naturalized at any time. How would I learn whether he was naturalized or not?
He married my grandmother and she was born here in the US. Would that have been the ...

Re: HOW CAN I FIND WERE MY GREA GRANDFATHER WAS BORN?
Bernarda,
I noticed in your posting that you have a Lagorio relation. My grandmother's mother was a Lagorio from Boston and the Lagorio family did originally come from Genoa.
I too am pursuing learning about my family genealogy on all sides including the Lagorio family. It would be interesting to ...

Re: Scipione Family of Formia and Gaeta
 This is exciting!
My great grandfather was Carlo/Charles Scipione and he came to the US in the late 1800s/early 1900s.
Last week I was in contact with a Guillermo Scipione from Argentina who I believe is also related to Vincent also as he is Vincent's grandson. His grandfather's brother ...

Re: Scipione Family of Formia and Gaeta
I have heard of the Latter Day Saints and their wealth of genealogical knowledge but I have no idea where to obtain records other than looking up information on their website www.familysearch.org. I live in Massachusetts and have no idea where or how to access their microfiche records. Please advise ...

I am working on my family history and genealogy and I have one again returned to the Scipione family branch to learn more after connecting with an extended relative living in South America.

Locating Family in Italy
I am planning on making a trip to Gaeta, Italy in the autumn 2007. I believe that I still have extended family there as I heard from a distant cousin named Attilio via email a year or so ago when he was 18 years old. However, since then his email address through the university is no longer active ...

On FamilySearch.org, there is a listing for a Ciro Scipione who married a Maria C. Simone Fusco on 24 JUN 1901 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts with the same parents listed as Vincenzo Scipione and Maria A. D'Errico.

Re: Italian Surnames & Family Heritage
I was able to gleen from my father that the connection with the Deferrari family is that Ida Scipione's mother's sister married a Deferrari and from that family there was a another portion of the family that came to the US around the same time.

Re: Italian Surnames & Family Heritage
In one of my grandparent's families there was a "Gus" but I was never sure where the name Gus was derived (i.e. Guiseppe, Augusto, Augustine, Augustino) by the Gustaph or Pargusello below could be potentially "Gus"... I believe there was also a "Guy" who might have been the same as "Gus" but ...

Re: Italian Surnames & Family Heritage
I would gather that my grandfather, Angelo Traniello would have been one year and 10 months at the time possibly when he came here as one of the sources may have stated. It is unlikely that it would be that Maria aka Marie would have been younger than Angelo as I understand Angelo to be one of the ...

Re: Italian Surnames & Family Heritage
I would look into the second Angelo simply because he arrived after 1904 (if you back track from his arrival of May 1906 1 yr and 10 months) you should get to abt Aug 1904.
Besides, I don't think the first Angelo was going to Mass. What was Angelo's wife's first name? (sorry if I missed it above ...
