Moreno,

Re: Something different
I agree! Useage is a bit confusing. I finally go out Webster's Italian Dictionary. MARITARE is a verb as is SPOSARE a verb.
Maritata is an adj.
I wonder if they are interchangeable?
I would like to hear from one of the native speakers too. Unless I hear other wise I will go with the near cognate ...

Thank you for the beautiful grammar instruction. It is very helpful. If you think MARITATA will work I would prefer to use it simple beacause non Italian readers might figure it out more easily.

On March 20th I received a Certificate of Noneistance of Record in 45 days.
It came from 111 Mass Ave, Washington DC. There is a critical typographical error on the Certificate, so I called the only phone number I had which is Lee's Summit. They told me that all requests dealing with genealogy go to ...

Re: Ancestry no longer at LDS family history centers
John,
Timing is always difficult. The only public library with Ancestry is a miserable ride for me. A genealogy volunteer there told me to use the phone book and call an FHC within my area and ask them for the name of the largest "stakes" then call and ask hours. There were six some with only one ...

Re: Ancestry no longer at LDS family history centers
John, I hope you are refering to Ancestry. LDS is the "good guys" in this. While not a LDS member I have used their centers, staff support and access for 4 months. I would not have been able to accomplish my goal without their help.

Cert. of Nonexistance of Record - in 45 days. WOW!
Good News. I have received a Certicate of Nonexistance of Record, for my grandfather, from US Citizenship and Immiration Services in 45 days including mail both ways. This is good news in that others have told me it takes many months to get this.

Suanj,
Thank you! A month ago I spent 2 hours at the Kern County Recorders Office and did not find their marriage record. I used every possible spelling of Panelli, but never, ever thought to look under his first name.
I kiss your hands and your feet. Nuccia, yours too.

Re: Stuck, Can't find marriage record
Nuccia,
Paolo never called himself Peter, but it is possible that the census taker listed him that way. In the '20 & "30 census they were in Kern County, Calif.
I have copies of there birth record from Italy. Paolino is the name on it.
Before I write the church, pls clarify this. If was required ...
