Re: chiarmonte

Well, she was my grandpa's mom, and he was born in 1941. So, probably the early 1900s. I'd say like 1915-ish.

Re: chiarmonte

Wait, oh my gosh, I just remembered something.
Chiarmonte is NOT her married name. It was her maiden name. That's why I don't have her last name right now. If it was her married name, it would have been my last name too. One of her brothers or something must have fathered one of those people I'm ...

Re: chiarmonte

The same things are coming up. I know nothing about anyone else with the surname except her, so I'm getting the feeling that she was born soon after they arrived in America, either that or she wasn't registered under that name.

Re: John Bojalad, of Lebanon.

I haven't, but I don't know who that would be. His mom, maybe? It could be anyone. I've never heard of a Marrie Bojallad. I do know that my relatives came from Beirut, which is what I assume they meant when they wrote "Beyrouth".

Re: John Bojalad, of Lebanon.

I thought the same thing, so probably yes. I'm just curious as to how it got somehow legally changed. If they had it recorded as Bojalad, then I'm not sure when it dropped the second L.
My great-grandma is still alive, and she spells her last name with the one L, and from what I remember, so did my ...

Would good knowledge of Spanish get me by well enough?

Okay, so I want to be a fashion designer. One day, after college, I really want to go to Milan to further my experience. Plus going to Italy has always been a dream of mine.
Seeing how similar the two are, would about ten years' schooling in Spanish get me by well enough in Italian? Like, just ...

Re: chiarmonte

I found some people who might be related. I wish it would tell you where in America they ended up living, but I guess the people at Ellis Island had no way of knowing that, lol.

First Name: Rosario
Last Name: Chiarmonte
Ethnicity: Italy, Italian south
Last Place of Residence: Borgetto, Sicily ...

Re: chiarmonte

And I'm not exactly sure if she was born in Italy. I think she most likely was.
The thing is, the people I mentioned that were related to us all spelled their names Chiarmonte. So what I think probably happened was that the record-takers, wherever and whenever they came into the country, misspelled ...

Re: chiarmonte

It was probably her married name, because there are people I've met who I'm actually distant cousins with, who look like people in my family, and they all have that last name. I think that either she divorced my grandfather or he died before her. Or both. I looked on this one search website and I ...

Re: Bojalad

If these are your ancestors, then i'm related to you! weird, huh?
anyway, i know for a fact that these are my ancestor, because my grandma's dad (my great-grandpa) had the last name of bojalad, and my grandma lives in clearfield.
