Giuseppe Visaggio

I'm trying to find any information on the names of the parents of my great-great grandfather, Giuseppe Visaggio, born in Italy approx. 1854 and died, I believe, in New York 1913. He was married to Anna Maria de Maso (or di Mase). He had at least one son, Prospero Visaggio, born in 1882 or 1883 in ...

Adelphine Campinelli Naturalization

Hey there. I'm doing some looking for my buddy Martin to see if he qualifies for Italian citizenship. So we need to find out when or if his grandmother was naturalized. Her name was Adelphine Campinelli, and we believe she was born in Italy. It may have been *her* mother who was born in Italy ...

Re: Gagliardi Genealogy

Does anyone have the faintest idea why the family name is here as "Gagliardo," but that whole branch of my family goes by "Gagliardi?"

Re: Gagliardi Genealogy

I just confirmed with my dad that those are, in fact, the names of his aunts and uncles :)

Gagliardi Genealogy

I'm trying to find information about my great-grandparents Gaetano and Ida Gagliardi, both of whom would have died in New York. Their daughter was Alice Gagliardi Visaggio, who married Michael Arthur Visaggio, son of Prospero and Julia Visaggio.

Thanks so much!

Meaning of my name?

Hey, yo. I've been wondering this for a long time. Saw someone else got results, so I figured I might as well ask.

What does "Visaggio" mean?

Re: Visaggio/Bruno/De Maso/Pelleteri

I'm not sure what to make of that Visaggio 1900 census form. I'm not sure what "Risano" refers to; is it a middle name? And the existence of a "Julia Pelletieri;" my great-great-grandmother Julia Bruno's mother was a Pelleteri...I guess that's just something of a coincidence, and my g-grandfather ...

Re: Visaggio/Bruno/De Maso/Pelleteri

Giuseppe Visaggio, near as I can tell, came to the US from Stigliano, Matera. The family settled in New York City. I don't know what the ship was, or if the family came together.

Visaggio/Bruno/De Maso/Pelleteri

I'm looking for any information on Giuseppe Visaggio and his wife Anna Maria de Maso. They would have been born in the 1850's/60's, and had a child named Prospero in 1882. They came to the United States in the mid 1880's.

Alternately, I'm looking for information on Michele Bruno and his wife Maria ...
