Re: Has anyone had a consulate bypass 1912 law?
If I remember correctly, prior to this date all naturalizations were handled by the local authorities hence the federal government would not have these records. IF the local authorities have no record of him naturalizing then I would think you are in the clear.

Re: Ready to file in Boston
Don't worry about it, from what I have seen first hand and from others 2-4 visits to the Consulate is not abnormal. I will end up with 4 including picking up my passport next Thursday. The fact he didn't turn you away means the minor issues are just that, minor. At worst the one for your GGM name on...

Email contact information
My email address is listed in the configuration to be private, not public, but it is able to be seen in my public profile. Why? I do not want me email address publicized.

Drivers licenses and/or passport will generally do for the consulate. All adults are required to attend AFAIK. Call and ask, I am sure they will tell you.

Re: Appointment in Boston. Success? YES! Updated Dec 17
I had almost all of my docs together before I called for my appointment, but all consulates are different. For instance, I believe Los Angeles is a year out for appointments. Boston is one to three months only, so you need to check your consulate to see and gauge your timeline on that.

OK, sorry about the back and forth. You hadn't noted that you have cleared this line with the consulate pending natualization dates.

Re: So close but no cigar!!!
OK, it is 1912. You need to find out when/if Beniamino naturalized. If he naturalized before Antonio came to the age of majority (not sure if it was 18, 20 or 21 at the time for Italy) you mayl not qualify as Antonio may not have received citizenship from his father due to Italian Law n. 555 of June...

Re: So close but no cigar!!!
OK Now I see it, this is not straight paternal and that was what I was missing. This line does seem to qualify as long as Beniamino sis not naturalise prior to the birth of Antonio. Although, I seem to remember some other rules that come into play from around 1906 that might cause some issues. Let m...

Re: So close but no cigar!!!
I need to clarify this:
If Beniamino was your grandfathers mothers father, it won't work due to 1948 laws
If this was your fathers mothers father, then as long as your grandmother was born on/after Jan 1 1948, you are fine.
