Thanks Maurizio,
I don't think that was it though... It was definitely due to him working late into the night on the horse and wagon whistling to the horses...

Help with an Italian nickname
My great grandfather had an Italian nickname that translated to "the night whistler". He would work 20 hours a day? I'm looking for the Italian slang nickname for this translation, not what google or yahoo translator says. It sounded like the word for whistle =fischione I was hoping someon...

Re: Monte Porzio, Marche, Italy
Thank you Piero and Peter for following this thread up...
I have the two "needed" birth certificates required to apply for duel citizenship.
I have a list of "wants" from Castelvecchio di Monte Porzio... I may pass along a couple of dates and name through PM Piero. Thanks!

Re: USCIS vs. NARA
I'm not sure... It almost looks like a two part process.
One to get the index information (at $20). It looks like from the website they are processing April request right now.
Two to request the actual document ($20-$35).

USCIS vs. NARA
Can someone tell me what the difference is between these two places when requesting documentation? NARA is much cheaper than USCIS? Would they return the same documents?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Dual Citizenship
Peter,
Thank you for the quick response and clarification. All I need from Italy is the long form birth certified birth certificate.

Re: Naturalization Documents...How long to receive
I'm confused... Do you get the naturalization documents from NARA or USCIS? Could anyone point me to a picture of the actual document needed for the Consulate? I'm starting to doubt myself (whether I have the right document). I recieved the following from NARA: Declaration of Intention 1928 Certific...

Re: Looking for help with Alpi or Latini
Can't really help you... I'm also working on a Latini... I'm looking for details on Giovanni Latini who married Maria Secchiaroli in Corinaldo, Ancona, Marche, Italy (have the marriage certificate). I think they had at least one son Aldo Latini. Please let me know if you come across them and I'll do...

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here would know of alternative Italian names for Nazzarena?
Anna?

Thanks, Mike
