JUST A THANKYOU

I posted a thankyou to all who helped me in my searches in the topic
MY GRANDFATHERS MANIFEST

I found what I was looking for all the way back to Italy to both sides of my family.
I was very surprised to find that my grandmother had such a HUGE family in Pietradefusi and the surrounding towns! More ...

Found what I was looking for.... finally. He did arrive in 1900.
I traced him back and found his family and the family of his wife !!!. I know who they were now and am very happy. My research now has moved to Italy, montemiletto and pietradefusi. I am on the receiving end of a wealth of information ...

Unfortunately I do not have a scanner. I have written to the Archives @ Boston. He told me if my grandfather was naturalized in a Boston Court, they have the records of the COA if it still exists. I am currently waiting.....

They are very nice folks working there, they were very helpful.

I got the papers through the NARA request and order reproductions. I only received 2 papers a declaration and a petition with the oath on the back of the petition.

I guess that is the whole file on him.
I must be doing something wrong in my search, because all I can find is the certificate of ...

My question now is, how do I/ can I get a certificate of arrival for him.
My hope is that the name of his ship and actual date of arrival are.

Where do I begin to find this record?

what does this number mean?

I found this number on Naturalization Papers

1X 4611 it seems to refer to some kind of arrival number but some of the line is struck through and this number follows;

I hereby certify that certificate of arrival No. 1X 4611....

I have been reading the Nat. Papers, noticed this number after the affidavits.... "subscribed and sworn to before me_____etc.. in the office of the Clerk of said court.......

1X 4611

The beginning of that particular phrase is x'd out by the typewriter it says ," I hereby certify that ...

If you go to this option and type in June 1900, I think there are only two ships that arrived through Ellis Island in NY that started with the letter G. Maybe he was on one of those ships.
