I found what I was looking for all the way back to Italy to both sides of my family.
I was very surprised to find that my grandmother had such a HUGE family in Pietradefusi and the surrounding towns! More of her family survives than her husband my grandfather. I am in contact with them and have received an overwhelming amount of information. Very happy!
Thanks to all who gave me suggestions and found records. The key was in the certificate of arrival that took a very long time to get. It opened many doors!
