Re: Genetti Family
What memories I do have are sketchy, but I would be more than glad to share them. Unfortunately my father passed away unexpectedly in 1996 or I would be able to pick his brain.

Re: Genetti Family
Here's a cool but rather useless fact. I am from the Hazleton area and many moons ago my Dad was an Assistant Manager at a Genetti's supermarket.

Re: Pay sites
Yep.....I am still living in that area and will most definitely go to the library to talk to them in person. I have searched Heritage Quest on-line through the library. I also found a local site on-line through the library, where people from my area help each other with research.....and to my ...

Re: Durso immigration records

Other hobbies/passions/interests
I only recently got into genealogy. I started mostly because my mom turns 75 at the end of the year and I wanted to present her with a family tree of sorts as a gift. I never realized how addictive it would become.....LOL.
I thought it would be fun to see what other interests people have. Myself ...

Re: Durso immigration records
I have to tell you...the more I look the more confused I become..LOL. I too, found a Mary D'urso that came through Ellis Island with her mom and siblings to join Mary's Dad. However.....that was in 1906, which is contrary to other info. BUT...their final destination was only a few miles from where I ...

Durso immigration records
I am currently searching for immigration information on my great-grandmother. She was born somewhere in Italy as Maria Durso in 1882. It is believed she came to America before her first birthday. She married Frank George at the age of 15. They lived in Pardeesville Pennsylvania and had 9 children ...

Re: Birthday
That is a beautiful story!! And yes....maybe she did know and kept it to herself. I DO know that sharing that day with her made me feel like I was more dear to her than any of her other grand-children.
She was a treasure.
