Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano

I Don't recall an appeals period for my case although this was now many years ago as I was one of his earlier clients. For me I had the first court case and was informed by Luigi that the judge would make a decision and there was no need for a 2nd trial. (it was myself and 2 brothers on the case ...

Re: researchers in messina?

I can recommend a researcher I had great luck with. She and her company are based in the US, however, she has researchers ALL over Italy. I had gone through 2 other US based companies with terrible results and a friend of mine who used this company (a few years back) had success so I tried. They ...

Re: researchers in avellino?

Hello - I was also looking for family (in another area) and tried a few researchers, the first one really made no progress and was not worth the effort, another one was quite promising and communicated with me well and then disappeared for 6 months and stopped responding. I finally had a friend who ...

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano

My guess is there is 'no' way to expedite. I know when I first started with Luigi back in 2010, it was always explained to me by Luigi that 2 appearances was standard (about a year apart). For whatever reason it seems many/most (but clearly not all) did not have to come back for the 2nd appearance ...

Re: DeNigris Surname in Gravina in Puglia

DeNigris actually I've been able to find and confirm
With actual Italian documents, several are copies of originals. Although i know there are variations of that name I've even found some colafiglios still in gravina and some DeNigris in matera. Oddly my last name Cariddi seems to have a variation ...

Re: DeNigris Surname in Gravina in Puglia

Perhaps my confusion also is both maria and Giuseppe use the colafiglia name? If Maria was my GGMs sister her name would be DeNigris. Back in America my GGM took the name of her husband. But back in Italy if not common it makes me wonder why the letters both use a common surname

Re: DeNigris Surname in Gravina in Puglia

ok =) I learned something new thanks! I just wanted to make sure it wasn't some other meaning to that name, so at least I've confirmed Colafiglio/Colafiglia (odd it looks like both) appears to be the surname who communicated with my Great Grandmother!

Re: DeNigris Surname in Gravina in Puglia

Also if anyone can help, Where I got the 'Colafiglio' (or Colafiglia) name was off these envelopes. The letters then refer to a sister (My GGM) and nephews (other family in America. Was it customary with older Italian Generations to write their surname first? I ask because it does not seem standard ...

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano

I have not been on this forum in some time, I'm one of the original people that used Luigi and his services. Back when I started in 2010 he had only won 4 cases, but as you all know, he seems to have this down quite well! As most have posted, he will let you know the steps, it pretty much followed ...

Re: DeNigris Surname in Gravina in Puglia

Yes, I have seen those names/addresses. None seem to match the letter but of course in many decades that is not surprising. I guess I will try to write 'some' and see what I can come up with. I do have pictures I can make copies of, perhaps a letter with pictures explaining things 'could' help ...

DeNigris Surname in Gravina in Puglia

I've been trying to find a genealogy/researcher who can help me locate living family in 'Gravina in Puglia'. My Great Grandmother's maiden name was DeNigris, from what research I have done thus far and from pictures/letters my Grandparents have from the 1970's, I believe my Great Grandmother''s ...

Finding living family

Can anyone recommend a reputable/good business for finding living relatives in Italy? I have started/stopped with 2 I found, and it seems just when you think you are getting somewhere, it is like you are bothering them to get work done. I was hoping someone used one they can refer me to in the hopes ...

Re: I Just Beat the 1948 Rule

So as a final update to all that have followed me over the years in my quest to reclaim my italian citizenship who fell into the 1948 rule I have completed the journey. My birth record (Atti Di Nascita) was received several months back and with that in hand registered with AIRE through the NY ...
