Re: Looking for info on Ruoti, Italy
I have an account with Ancestry.com. My great-grandparents were Leonardo Anthony Iacouzze (DOB: 7-10-1887 in NYC) and Angela Maria Mariano (DOB: 5-26-1887 in Ruoti). I cannot find any info on my great-great grandfather--I believe all of the Iacouzze's and Mariano's originated in Ruoti, Italy. Thanks...

Re: Rocco Mariano and Anna Maria Bruticchio from Ruoti, Ital
Nick, It was great hearing from you!! Angela Mariano is indeed my great-grandmother and she was married to Leonardo (Gerardo) Iacouzze, my great-grandfather. Their daughter, Jean Iacouzze Broderick, is my grandmother, and her son, Jack Broderick, is my father. So I guess you and I are cousins?? I ha...

Re: Buchicchio and Nardiello Families
Hi djm! Do you think our Nardiello's are related? This is what I have: Guiseppe Mariano (DOB about 1825) married Angela Maria Nardiello (DOB unknown). They were both farmers in Ruoti, Italy. They are my great-great-great grandparents. Guiseppe emigrated to the NYC on Sept. 17,1873 on the "Assyr...

Re: Dondero from Genoa
I am unable to find any census info/documentation on my great-great-great-great grandparents, Giovanni and Maria Dondero, other than the ship's manifest in 1867 and 1900 NJ Census. I have pored through the censuses and find nothing. I am wondering if they had more children once they settled in the U...

Re: Dondero from Genoa
Thanks, Lilbees! I was beginning to think the same thing. My uncle is adamant about the spelling on Arcangela's gravestone, but there is no such name as "Donoaro" found anywhere in Italy. It has to be a typo. Tessa, I found the censuses that you referred to and I think Arcangela's parents ...

Re: Dondero from Genoa
Sure Tessa. This is what I know: My great-great-great grandmother was Arcangela Dondero. DOB: Sept. 19, 1855. Suanj tells me that she's pretty sure Arcangela is from Genoa, Genova, Liguria, Italy. We found the ship's manifest from 1867. The ship, "Panchito" left Genoa, Italy and arrived in...

Dondero from Genoa
How can I find out more about my Dondero ancestors in the Genoa region? Ancestry.com seems to focus on when the ancestors come to America. I want to know about the Dondero's BEFORE they came to the US.
Thanks,
Marie
Thanks,
Marie
