Did you try the state archives? It's easy to order from and the entire index is online.
I found this, but don't know if any of these names are the ones you're looking for. This is only births over a hundred years old, deaths and marriages over 50 years old. I would try the New Orleans Archdiocese ...

Re: Did anyone notice the Consent on the Passport App?

Did anyone notice the Consent on the Passport App?
My appointment was set for Thursday, and I just noticed the Consent required from the other parent of any child under 18. This consent is to get my passport, not my daughter's. Even though I have custody, she absolutely refuses to sign it for no other reason but spite. How can this be? How can ...

Marie,
Now that someone brought your thread back to the top of the list and I got a chance to read it, i am curious about the final outcome. Was your citizenship recognized by the NY consulate?

Re: Do You Ever Need to show your US Passport as proof?
You will need a valid id to show proof of residence in the juridiction you are applying at. You will also need a valid id, preferably passport, but not required, when you get your Italian passport.

Here is some more detailed information in reference to renouncing or losing your citizenship.
When it's renounced (if and when it can be)

When it's stripped.

Re: If I renounce my US citizenship does it affect eligibili
It was a great idea, except.....The government has agreements with the EU to share all passport information and movement regardless of Nationality. My wife does not hold a US passport, as she is a citizen of a European country. Her country only recently signed the agreement to share all passport ...

It's not quite that simple. Whether you own a business or work for an employer, there are strict rules and limitations, thus the reason I said a few exceptions. There are limits on how many days you can be in the US per year. You should read the link below too.

Re: If I renounce my US citizenship does it affect eligibili
You should check out the laws on renouncing citizenship first. I'm fairly sure they won't let you renounce if; 1) You would be considered stateless after you renounce, and 2) If you are renouncing for the sole purpose of dodging any financial obligations or in an effort to skirt the law.

Re: Good service to order Italian Birth Certificates
I ordered several documents from Sciacca. I used Mr. Nicola through Italiamerica.org. Because I wanted documents a few generations back, they had to be converted from old Italian to Italian and then translated to English. He gave a few options, which was the official doc for use in a foreign country ...

Re: New laws putting a generation limit?
It appears we have lived different lives. I have traveled a lot and I lived in cities all across america, big and small. What I have seen in my life and travels makes me disagree with you. Recently the Chancellor of Germany stated that “multiculturalism has utterly failed” and the French President ...

Hey JPMessina.
Congrats... and I know the feeling your are talking about.
Quick question. What did your birth certificate from Italy look like? I received a package a few weeks ago of copies of all the documents the Commune registered there. It's basically just an overly Xeroxed information page ...

I disagree with you. Italy has the lowest birthrate in the EU and their population is on the decline. The young have left and villages have many houses that are empty. Empty houses equals towns that are dying. Towns that are dying equals a loss of the culture. Essentially Italy becomes ...

Re: New laws putting a generation limit?
This will crush a lot of people's dreams if this goes through. I'm 4th generation, and have more french than Italian blood, but have always considered myself a true Italian. When the letter came in the mail recognizing me as an Italian citizen, I was overwhelmed. My wife and I have changed the ...
