Healthcare for dual citizen w/ US salary living in Italy up to 6 months
Hi all, I obtained my Italian citizenship back in June 2012 in Philadelphia and lived/worked in Milan until 8/2015. I've been back in the US for over 2 years and needless to say I'm missing life in Italy, aside from the salaries of course. I work in tech where remote jobs are quite common so my goal...

Re: Help with dual citizenship - USA/Italy
I guess I should mention that some have hired lawyers and beat the 1948 rule, so there's still hope (albeit costly) if you were born before 1/1/1948

Re: Help with dual citizenship - USA/Italy
You may qualify, but it depends on your birth date. This was taken from the San Francisco consulate's website: Please note: a person born before 01/01/1948 can claim Italian citizenship only from his/her father (who was not a naturalized citizen of another country before his/her child’s birth), and ...

Re: Submitted all final paperwork, now what?
Hi Erica,
I recently received my certificato di cittadinanza from the Philly consulate (appointment was in March), and I asked IPS Italy when I could get my passport. They said to go between 9am-12pm during the week, no need to set up an appointment.
Hope this helps!

Re: Possible position in Milano
Thanks for the encouragement and all the info, much appreciated! I didn't get too much detail about the position since it's still a maybe right now, but I told my boss I'll do everything in my power to get my language skills back up if they give me the opportunity. Whether that's private lessons lea...

Re: Possible position in Milano
Ok that's comforting, thanks! My hope is that the Italian language requirement isn't as strict given most global tech resources do speak English. But I do plan on achieving fluency once I'm there, definitely a big goal of mine. It'll just be a while before that happens.

Yesterday my boss told me that the Milan office might be winning business from a company that is in the particular industry our office services. They would need a PM who has experience in the indus...

Buon giorno tutti! After 15 months of waiting and gathering documents, I finally had my appointment at the Philly consulate yesterday. I applied through my GGF-GM-M. I am one of four children, but only my sister and I attended with my mother, the other 2 will have to apply once we're accepted. We ar...

Re: 1 week away from Philly appointment - status update
I received the translations last night with Gabriella's certification. I spoke with someone at the consulate and they said any professional translator will do, and after reviewing it looks like Gabriella did a thorough job aside from some words that were illegible in the documents (all pertinent inf...

Re: 1 week away from Philly appointment - status update
Thanks! I've never read any negative feedback on her so I'm pretty confident she'll have my documents ready before my appointment. Thanks for sharing the link, I'll do some research. I should be able to handle the birth certs at least. My mother went to Harrisburg and got her birth cert fixed, so I ...
