Re: What exactly is a Denunzia Della Successione?

Thank you for your reply.

Can you tell me, would there have to be a "Last Will and Testament" in order for someone to obtain a Denuncia di Successione? If the surviving next of kin were a son and daughter, would they automatically inherit their father's Estate without him leaving a Will?

Any ...

What exactly is a Denunzia Della Successione?

I am delighted to have been sent one of these documents dated 1887. I have been trying to discover a last will and testament for the deceased person but was told there is no record of a will in the record office of Milan. He lived in Milan. However they were able to send me this Denunzia Della ...

Re: Tracing a will

Thank you for that information. It is very helpful. Now I need to look up how to write a letter in Italian as, though I am beginning to understand some of the written word I do not know how to write it.

Tracing a will

How should I go about tracking down a will? I know the person died in Milan in September 1886. I think he was a widower, would have been quite well off and had two children so I imagine he would have left a will.

Re: Life as a Navy Wife

Interesting to read what you sent, especially the history of the austrian-hungarian navy. The birth record I am reading from is dated 1871 and mentions two brothers, one age 39 born in Lussin Grande,he is an" Austro-ungarico" subject and a professional seaman. The other age 50 born in Venice,is an ...

Re: Could a couple get married in two different countries?

The document was signed by the Father who was an educated man who was a captain in the Viceroy of Egypt's navy, the baby's mother, described as his wife, was the daughter of parents who ran a school in England so I would guess these people were literate. and the last sentence of the record says ...

Re: Could a couple get married in two different countries?

thank you for your reply. I don't think proof of marriage is important in registering a birth but I suppose in 1866 legitimacy rules required marital status to be recorded? It is intriguing to find someone described as a wife in one country and a spinster two years later, going through a marriage ...

Life as a Navy Wife

Can anyone shed any light on what life might have been like for the wife of an Italian captain in the Khedive of Egypt's navy in 1866. This particular captain Federico Maria FEDRIGO is mentioned in the history of what I understand is about a college for navy personel on the island that was Lussin ...

Could a couple get married in two different countries?

I recently received the birth record of a member of my family history from the Italian Consulate in Alexandria. It informed me that on 1st December 1866 Frederico Maria FEDRIGO Bey, captain in the Khedive of Egypt's Navy, age 46, declared that a male baby had been born to him and his wife, Amelia ...

I am looking for MARGHERITA FEDRIGO. She was born in Alexandria in 1871. With an English Mother who died a week after her birth and an Italian Father, she was in England for 1901 Census. After this date there is no further record of her in England. Her Father died in Milan in 1886. I need help in ...

Tracing and obtaining a 19th Century will from Milan

Can anyone help me in applying to the appropriate office for a will. The will I am interested in was that of Federico Maria Fedrigo who died in Milan on 25th Sept 1886. I am slowly learning to understand the Italian language from translating the most fascinating documents but do not know enough to ...
