I had this same problem and am going through SF as well. My great grandfather was born in Italy and died in California, but the state has no death certificate. We were originally going to go to court to get a delayed death record, but before we did, we decided to email Mr. Cei in SF. Here is his ...

This is all great and much farther than I got! Do you think that Agnese's maiden name is also Oderda? I assume they would list her under her maiden name as opposed to her married name?

I just got a copy of my Great Grandfather's birth certificate and am really struggling to read what it says (both because I do not speak Italian and cannot decipher the handwriting)
