Thank you so much Erudita!!
This record came from the church in Lezzeno, Como. Unfortunately, there is no actual birth certificate at the Municipio, so this is about as much as I'll see for him.
I'm so happy to find out another generation...of the fathers at least.
Thanks again for your help.

Birth record from Church- Help!!
Hi everyone, I received the attached document from the church where my gggf was inscribed when born, but unfortunately it is not very legible. I am trying to figure out if in fact his given name was Carlos, or Carlo, etc, as the writing seems to say "Caroly". Also, his parents Bernardo & Giovanna ...

Civil Registry in Milan
I'll be travelling to Milan in 3 weeks and was hoping there is a central place where I could go to possibly search and obtain birth and/or death certificates.
Does anyone know of a " Registro Civile" in Milan and where it's located?

Re: Looking for Juana Scachino, son of Francisco/Maria Porro
Hi, I'm sorry, I meant to say daughter.
All I know is that Juana emigrated from Italy to Uruguay with her husband Juan Calvi and they had my great grandmother in Uruguay in 1913.
I guess it is possible the last name could be Scaccino.

Looking for Juana Scachino, son of Francisco/Maria Porro
I'm trying to find out where this last name originated from and where in Italia my gggp were from. I've had no luck finding records with this last name anywhere.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: How can I find out which Comune my gggf was from?
Hi Suanj, WOW, thank you so much for this quick turnaround and all this information.
My family was adamant our last name was only spelt with one "C", because that's how my gggf signed his name, but i guess he changed it when he arrived in Uruguay.
Question, you mention above there was another Carlo ...

How can I find out which Comune my gggf was from?
Hi everyone, I recently made a trip to Uruguay to find out more about my Italian heritage and I was only able to find that my great-great-grandfather Carlo(s) Vacani was born in 1862 and was from Lombardia.
