thank you Pippo for your reply its much appreciated, the name Im researching is Ponise,but on some documents it has 2 other spellings of it,Ponisi/Pinisi.So by not really knowing which one is right Im at a standstill.I just know my mother once told me as a little boy that my grandmother [her mother ...

thanks for the welcome, Marty. I tried to start a topic for my great grandfather's name James Ponise/Ponisi/Pinisi. These are the 3 different ways that seem to be recorded on different documents. The information I have is that James was born at sea between 1821-1823, and settled in Ballycastle ...
