Re: Pittorino / Zagami - Any possible connection

Hi again Mary,

Thanks for your quick response. Yes, I'm on GEDMatch but I'm afraid the results really confuse me - I'm very much the novice with all this.

Thanks
Cheryl

Pittorino / Zagami - Any possible connection

Hi all and greetings after a fairly long absence from the site. A while ago I had initially posted queries searching for Pittorino and Calaio names, and gained a lot of information thanks to the administrators. Since that time I have done a DNA test. Yesterday I received the following email: My nam...

Re: Angela Pittorino Death Record 16.10.1909-Translation ple

How I wish I could speak Italian. Thankyou so much, I now have another generation above Giovanni (and wife Angela Pittorino), plus now have Giovanni Calaio''s death record. I had no joy researching Gaetano Pittorino jnr (b. 22.06.1856) either. A while ago I checked ship manifests to America, given ...

Re: Angela Pittorino Death Record 16.10.1909-Translation ple

That's interesting about the father & adds another layer to the mystery. I shall now see if I can find something in the Argentinian records. Thankyou for passing on that information! This is the website for the graves in Leni Cemetery (Sue Lopes is actually related to me somehow as well, she li...

Thanks again Angela. I think I've found Angela's grave, but on a different site. Not sure if we can post links here?

Re: Angela Pittorino Death Record 16.10.1909-Translation ple

Hi Angela,

Thanks very much for that, and I shall gain the url directly from the website next time.

I guess there's no way of finding out how she died?

I have tried to upload the document but message received is that the file is too big. I have no idea then how to supply you with this document, other than copy and paste the information that Adelfio found for me on 2 Nov 2014. Thanks in advance. Re: CALEO Angela, Married a PITTORINO

Here's another photo but it's a bit clearer. The hat he's wearing is similar to a pilot's hat plus it has a feather in it. The photo was taken in Australia, and it's a postcard type. I was thinking perhaps with the intention of sending it home to Salina to family.

Re: CALEO Angela, Married a PITTORINO

Hi Liviomoreno, thanks so much for replying. Yes, I know they appear Scottish but was wondering if anywhere in Italian history there were any uniforms that resembled what these 2 gentlemen are wearing. Plus their headgear doesn't appear Scottish at all. If not, I can only assume they were dressed u...

Re: CALEO Angela, Married a PITTORINO

Can anyone shed any light on the uniforms these 2 gentlemen are wearing? The gentleman on the right was born in Leni 1879. The photo was taken in Australia, at a guess approx. early 1900's
