Hi all and greetings after a fairly long absence from the site.
A while ago I had initially posted queries searching for Pittorino and Calaio names, and gained a lot of information thanks to the administrators. Since that time I have done a DNA test.
Yesterday I received the following email:
My name is Terese Zagami and you come up in my DNA matches, I think we could be 4th cousins. I live in Perth Western Australia. You have an ancestral name of Pittorino mentioned and my 3rd great Grandfather Guiseppe Zagami was married to Caterina Pittorino , do you follow in this line. My italian ancestors come from Filicudi Isola, Messina Italy.
Just as an interest, I have a cousin also doing tree, he was recently in hospital in Perth, he can’t remember her name but she decended from the Pittorino family from Filicudi
My query is this:
Most of my ancestors on the Pittorino line apparently come from Leni, specifically Salina and immediate areas.
Terese's Pittorino ancestor comes from Filicudi, Province of Messina (Caterina Pittorino).
Is there any way I can determine if Terese and I have a mutual ancestor and could be related, even though they're not from the same place?
