Re: Surname Help & Translation
Thank you all again for your help! I had not even considered that the third letter could be an "r". The di Iorio name would make much more sense for the town. I will look around for further records as suggested, but it is a bit complicated as Giovanni Cappuccilli had a second wife, and only the one ...

Re: Surname Help & Translation
Thank you for the input. Gazio/DiGazio seems like a more common last name than Gorzio. It's a little odd to me because I've never come across the name before when researching the records from this area.

Re: Surname Help & Translation
Thank you both for the clarification and background information on the curate. I am still unsure what the Angela's surname was, but the rest of the record at least makes more sense to me now.

Re: Death Record Translation
Thank you so much, Erudita! I really appreciate your assistance. This is much different than any death record I have come across in my research so far. I will have to look further into whether or not there was some sort of battle/war going on at this time in this area. I'll assume that the convent ...

Death Record Translation
Hello. Can someone please provide a translation of this death record for Domenico Santone from San Giovanni in Galdo? I would particularly like to understand what is being referred to with regard to comments “sparo violente”- was he shot and/or involved in the military?

Surname Help & Translation
Hello, can anyone suggest what the last name might be of Angela from this 1798 death record from Ripabottoni? Is it “di Gorzio”? The name does not appear to be common to the town.
If someone could also please briefly translate the document I would appreciate it. I am particularly curious who the ...

Re: Help w/ 1847 Marriage Documentation- Genealogy Chart?
Thank you for this explanation, Tessa. Both of Leonardo's parents were deceased at the time of the marriage. I did not realize that those were numbers indicating ages, nor that those other lines were actually abbreviations using superscripts. I will have to look into the maternal line more to try ...

Help w/ 1847 Marriage Documentation- Genealogy Chart?
Hello, this is my first post. I am hoping that someone can help me to understand what is written on the three pages starting with the one linked below (Images 121-122). These appear in the back of an 1847 marriage record from Ripabottoni. It looks like a genealogy chart for a Leonardo Cappuccilli ...
