Re: Ancestry update 13 September 2018

My Italian percentage went down dramatically in the Ancestry update, from 27% Europe South to 5% Italy. My mother’s result went down from 49% to 31%. Re: Appointment done, now what?

Which consulate did you apply at? Six weeks does seem very short, but we all live in hope. I'm currently waiting on London, but I have no idea how long it's going to take. Two months so far.

Lucia Di Fazio

Hi all,

I'm looking for information on my ggm, Lucia Di Fazio. Born 31/12/1895 in a comune "near" Picinisco, she emigrated to the UK where she married my ggf, Diamante Demarco. We know she kept in touch with relatives back in Italy and in the US (she had none of her own family in the UK), but my gm ...

Re: Certificates from Comune di Cantalupo Ligure and di Montacuto

Should the photo ID be the requester's ID or the ID of the person whose documents are being requested?

I'm also trying to obtain a certified estratto di nascita from my great grandfather's commune. Some years ago, I enquired and was sent a pdf of the estratto by a really helpful guy who ...

Re: dual nationality

It only affect minors who, because they were born in another country, naturalize with their parents. If your grandmother was born in England, she was born with English citizenship and would not be affected by her parents' naturalization.

Based on the information you provide, you seem to qualify ...

Re: dual nationality

Doesn't naturalisation also affect children if they were minors at the time of the parent's naturalisation? I've seen this mentioned but not sure if it's accurate.

Also, I'd appreciate any advice on my eligibility:

GGF Italy 1881 (+ GGM Italy 1895)
GM England 1922
M England 1948

We're not aware ...

Do I qualify?

Another post-Brexit (!) query:

My great grandfather Italy 1881
My great grandmother Italy 1895
Grandmother England 1922
Mother England 1948

Does this work? I think I just beat the 1948 rule, and I'm not aware of any naturalization or renouncing of citizenship by my great grandparents.

Any advice ...
